The San Francisco 49ers signed wide receiver A.J. Jenkins to a four-year deal on Wednesday. Terms were not disclosed. The Niners chose Jenkins with the 30th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Jenkins, 22, was an All-Big Ten first-team selection in 2011 after leading the Illinois with 90 catches for 1,276 yards and eight touchdowns. Jenkins showed up to the 49ers offseason program out of shape and will be fighting for playing time among a loaded wideout corps. The Niners already have receiver Michael Crabtree, as well as free agent pickups Randy Moss and Mario Manningham on the roster.
