San Francisco 49ers running back Marcus Lattimore is still rehabbing from a horrific knee injury he suffered last fall at South Carolina and won't play this season, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

The 49ers used a fourth-round draft pick on Lattimore in 2013, who starred at South Carolina for three seasons before dislocating his right knee and tearing three ligaments against Tennessee last October.

Lattimore rushed for 1,197 yards and 17 touchdowns as a freshman with the Gamecocks in 2010 and followed that up with 818 yards and 10 touchdowns as a sophomore. In 2012, before the injury, he rushed for over 100 yards in three separate games, with 11 total touchdowns.
