Alex Murphy, a 6-8 redshirt sophomore, intends to transfer to Florida, he told Jeff Goodman of ESPN.com.

Murphy's older brother, Erik, played for the Gators and was a second-round pick of the Chicago Bulls in 2013. His father also played in the NBA.

"I really appreciate the experience at Duke, playing for a Hall of Fame coach in Mike Krzyzewski," Murphy said on Wednesday. "I learned a lot as a player and a person.

"I've gotten a chance to know [Florida] coach [Billy] Donovan and the program. I think it's a great fit for me to continue my career. I think they can help me develop as a player — and that I can help them a lot as well."

Murphy, who went to high school in Massachusetts, also considered Rhode Island, Providence and Northeastern.
