Mike Woodson's days with the Knicks may be numbered, and the coach appears to be coming to terms with it.

Woodson and several of his assistant coaches — save Herb Williams — are expecting to be fired by the All-Star break, multiple sources told Michael Scotto of SheridanHoops.com, who reported the story on Friday.

The Knicks (19-30), who lost 28 games all of last season, play host to the Nuggets on Friday, visit the Thunder on Sunday and welcome the Kings on Wednesday before the break.

The five days off before New York begins a four-game row trip would be an ideal time to making a coaching change because it would allow the team to become acclimated with a new coach, sources told Scotto.

Williams, who served as the Knicks' interim coach in 2005 after Lenny Wilkens resigned, is expected to serve the same role should Woodson be fired, according to Steve Popper of The Bergen Record.

“This year has been, for me, it’s been kind of a disaster from a coaching standpoint in trying to get players to compete and play at a high level,” Woodson said Thursday during an ESPN New York radio interview. “That’s the frustrating part about it, because I know we’re better than what we’ve shown and we’ve still got a chance.”

Players have also privately grown tired of Woodson questioning the team's effort after losses, sources told ESPNNewYork.com's Ian Begley.

The Knicks, who were the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs last season after winning the Atlantic Division, are 2 1/2 games behind Charlotte for the final playoff spot and have lost three in a row after a four-game winning streak.
