Report: Boston College hires Jim Christian as men's basketball coach

Former Ohio University head men's basketball coach Jim Christian has agreed in principle to take the same position at Boston College, sources told ESPN.com's Jeff Goodman on Thursday.
Christian reportedly interviewed with the school earlier this week and returned on Wednesday, Goodman reports.
The 49-year-old spent the last two seasons coaching Ohio, where he went 49-21 and led the Bobcats to the 2013 NIT and 2014 CIT.

Prior to that, Christian spent four seasons at TCU, where he was 56-73 and never finished with a winning record in the Mountain West. He had better success in six seasons at Kent State from 2002-2008, when his teams went 137-59 and made the NCAA tournament in 2006 and 2008, after serving one season there as an assistant under Stan Heath.
The Golden Flashes had six straight 20-win seasons under Christian.
Christian has ties to the New England area. He played at Boston University two seasons before transferring to Rhode Island, where he led the Rams to the 1988 Sweet 16.
He also has ties to former South Carolina coach Eddie Fogler, who runs a search firm that has been advising BC athletic director Brad Bates, according to Goodman.
