With the Pistons nearing a deal with Stan Van Gundy to become the team's coach and president, the Warriors have turned their attention back to Steve Kerr.

Owner Joe Lacob, general manager Bob Myers and assistant GM Kirk Lacob will be in Oklahoma City on Tuesday night to "make a final push to convince Steve Kerr to coach the Warriors," sources told Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski. Kerr will be there for TNT's broadcast of Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals between the Thunder and Clippers.

Golden State met with Van Gundy on Monday in Florida, but the Warriors won't let him have final say on player personnel, Wojnarowski reports.

Writes Wojnarowski: "The Warriors would make [Van Gundy] one of the higher paid coaches in the NBA, but Detroit owner Tom Gores is willing to do 'whatever it takes,' one source said, to recruit Van Gundy.

Kerr, 48, has been rumored to be working out a deal with the Knicks, but the sides haven't been able to come to terms on the length of a contract, according to Wojnarowski. The Knicks reportedly want to pay Kerr like a first-time head coach.

Van Gundy, 54, will reportedly make his decision by week's end. He has a .641 regular-season winning percentage with the Heat (2003-2006) and Magic (2007-12), leading Orlando to the 2009 Finals.
