Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer liked Teddy Bridgewater's play during rookie minicamp so much that he'll give the quarterback some first-team reps during organized team activities later this month, Zimmer told reporters on Friday.

Bridgewater is still third on the Vikings' depth chart at quarterback behind veterans Matt Cassel and Christian Ponder, Zimmer reiterated, but he'd like to get the 32nd pick in the draft some work with the starters.

Bridgewater worked with Cassel and Ponder earlier this week at the team's voluntary offseason program.

"[Bridgewater] is throwing the ball good," Zimmer said, according to the Star Tribune. "I think he's got a good presence, a good command of the way he's taking things. It was good for him to be out here with the veteran quarterbacks a little bit last week for a few days."

Said Bridgewater: "Matt and Christian have been here for a while now, and those guys have been taking me under their wing and teaching me from a field standpoint and a film standpoint."

Zimmer said Bridgewater, whom the Vikings traded up to get a second first-round pick for, has picked upped the offensive terminology quickly.

"It's not like, 'Hey, I'm throwing an out now,'" Zimmer said. "He would say the whole formation, the whole play, what it's on and go from there, just repeat it as he goes. That was impressive."
