The Lightning and center Tyler Johnson agreed to a three-year contract on Friday, the team announced. The deal is worth $10 million, according to Elliotte Friedman of Hockey Night in Canada.
In 82 games this season, the 23-year-old Calder Trophy finalist (awarded to the league's best rookie) had 24 goals and 26 assists and became only the second rookie in NHL history to score five power-play and shorthanded goals in one season, according to the team. Johnson also had one goal and one assist in Tampa Bay's first-round playoff series loss to the Canadiens.
