The grounds at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Gardens, Florida, have been set up to host the Miami Open, which will be kicking off on Wednesday. It will be the 39th edition of the combined men's and women's event and is classified as an ATP Masters 1000 event on the 2024 ATP Tour and a WTA 1000 event on the 2024 WTA Tour. Daniil Medvedev and Petra Kvitová are the defending champions in the men's and women's singles draw, respectively. However, Kvitová did not enter the tournament due to pregnancy, making it the third consecutive year that the reigning women's singles champion pulled out from the tournament.

In the ATP draw, Wednesday will see British legend Andy Murray get his tournament account underway against Matteo Berretini, who is fighting to get back into pre-injury form.
Meanwhile, young British up-and-comer Jack Draper will be going up against Taro Daniel for a spot in the second round of the Masters 1000 event. Also, crowd-favorite Gael Monfils will be facing Dušan Lajović in the first round in Miami.
In the WTA draw, which actually kicked off on Tuesday, American Sloane Stephens will be going up against German legend Angelique Kerber in the first round. And four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka will go up against Elisabetta Cocciaretto.
