House Arrest Likely Punishment For LiAngelo Ball, UCLA Players Arrested In China

LiAngelo Ball and his two UCLA teammates could serve 20 days of house arrest in a hotel for shoplifting in China.

UCLA basketball players LiAngelo Ball Jalen Hill and Cody Riley will likely face house arrest for shoplifting at a Louis Vuitton store in Hangzhou, China, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The punishment could be for 20 days and served in the hotel where they are staying. The players will also not be permitted to visit the country again.

The arrests took place on Tuesday but the players were released on bail. The players returned to the Hangzhou Hyatt Regency hotel.

UCLA will play Georgia Tech in Shanghai on Friday night. Ball, Hill and Riley will not play in the game.

The university said it was cooperating with local authorities.
