UC Opens as Two-Point Favorite Against Wichita State

Cincinnati's lacking defense is sparking a run of overs.

CINCINNATI — UC battles Wichita State on Thursday night trying to build up some better defensive habits before the end of the regular season. The Bearcats opened as two-point favorites on the SI Sportsbook, and the game total started at 134 points.

The Bearcats are 8-13-3 against the spread this season and 5-5-2 ATS at Fifth Third Arena. WSU is 9-13 ATS and has played well as a road underdog. The Shockers are 3-1 ATS as road dogs this season.

In terms of the total, WSU is 9-13 this season at hitting the over, while Cincinnati is 11-13. Vegas has been throwing precise darts with these two teams' totals; UC goes under by an average of 0.94 points and WSU is right with them at -1.11 points.

Although, UC's sloppy defense has them on an over trend. Over the last four outings, Bearcats' games have gone over the total three times. Thursday's game tips off from Fifth Third Arena at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
