CINCINNATI — A local four-star recruit announced his top-seven schools on Friday, and Cincinnati is one of them. Lakota West (Oh.) safety Malik Hartford is down to Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, West Virginia, and Ohio State as his other top schools.

According to 247Sports, Hartford is the 18th-best athlete in the class and 216th-best player overall. Rivals has him rated as the 25th-best athlete in the class. He holds 23 offers and is expected to decide on a school before the start of his senior season.

Hartford said he is narrowing down the group to three teams "soon."

The coveted recruit could join Mario Eugenio as All-American Bowl participants who ended up playing for UC. Hartford accepted an invite this week to play in the game next January. Check out his highlights here.

UPDATE: Hartford is committing to a school on Wednesday, April 6, at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS Sports HQ.
