SI All-American: Bryce Foster No. 1 Interior OL

Sooners 2021 target, who goes by "The Mountain" and could become an immediate college football fixture, remains uncommitted
Bryce Foster AA Bowl

SI All-American has rated the top college football prospects at each position, and Oklahoma target Bryce Foster is the No. 1 overall interior offensive line prospect in the 2021 class.

OU already has a verbal commitment from the No. 1 overall player and No. 1 quarterback in Caleb Williams.

Williams has been trying hard to recruit Foster and others to come play with him in Norman.

Foster, a 6-foot-5, 315-pound senior at Taylor High School in Katy, Texas, is considering OU along with Texas, LSU, Texas A&M and Oregon. He's already committed to play in the All-American Bowl on Jan. 9.

SI All-American has compiled more than 1,000 prospects in the 2021 class and will identify the prestigious SI99 later in the football season.

Before that, however, each position group will have a top 10. Here are the top 10 interior offensive linemen, as ranked by SI All-American’s Edwin Weathersby II:

1. Bryce Foster, Katy (Texas) Taylor

6-foot-5, 315 pounds

Schools of Interest: Texas, LSU, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Oregon, among others

Foster checks in as our top interior offensive line (IOL) prospect, as we feel the Texan is an elite and college-ready guard. He looks great on the hoof due to his excellent bulk and mass. Foster shows good bend and plus snap quickness, but what’s more impressive is power and strength at the point. A bully upon contact, he can win control at the point early and uses good upper-body strength to sustain and steer targets in the run game. Strength is also a foundation of his pass-protection skill set, in which Foster is dominant in a phone booth and has easy anchor power. With his solid agility, coupled with his natural strength, we feel Foster can fit in an offense with an even mix of zone and gap scheme blocking concepts. He’s a rare IOL prospect who will be ready to see action early in his college career.
