Oregon Ducks Recruiting: Running Back Commit Dierre Hill Electrifies For Four Touchdowns, Akili Smith Jr. Struggles

Oregon Ducks recruiting is hot. The Ducks' five-star wide receiver commits Dakorien Moore and Dallas Wilson both excelled in wins for their high school teams this week. Also, elite running back commit Dierre Hill scored four touchdowns this week for Althoff Catholic. Oregon quarterback commit Akili Smith Jr. struggled this week.

Oregon Ducks

The Oregon Ducks are loaded at key positions in the 2025 recruiting class, one of the deepest since Oregon coach Dan Lanning has ever had in Eugene. With one more season before the recruits officially become Ducks, they have been impressing on Friday nights.

WR Dakorien Moore

MaxPreps No. 4 Duncanville (TX) played in one of the best games in the nation at the high school level. The Panthers faced off against No. 22 St. Frances Academy (MD) and came out on top 28-24. Five-star wide receiver Moore had four catches for 34 yards in the win as the Panthers needed his services as he played both ways.

His ability to create separation as a route runner is second to none in the class. Moore committed to the Ducks on July 4 this summer.

Moore's supreme athleticism allows him to play against even some of the best in the country at defensive back. The No. 5 player in the class of 2025 according to 247Sports, Moore is up to 13 catches, 162 yards and a touchdown in his senior year.

WR Dallas Wilson

Five-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson was productive in Tampa Bay Tech's 15-7 win over Plant. He caught five passes for 69 yards as the Titans couldn't get a lot going in the defensive slugfest. The Ducks commit has helped lead Tampa Bay Tech to a top 35 ranking in the state of Florida.

QB Akili Smith Jr.

Smith Jr., the Ducks only quarterback commit in the class of 2025 had a tough night against JSerra High School in Lincoln's 28-19 loss. The No. 17 quarterback in the class threw for 140 yards on a 43 percentage completion rate.

Smith Jr. displayed some nice touch on throws during the loss against a talented JSerra secondary.

According to Greg Biggins of 247Sports, his ability to thread the needle with accuracy is one of the reasons Oregon offensive coordinator Will Stein took his commitment.

"He has very good deep ball accuracy, can change speeds and understands when to put more touch on a throw and when he needs to use a little more gas," Biggins wrote.

Smith Jr. isn't known for his legs, but he was able to add 50 yards on the ground on five carries as he showed off his moves outside the pocket.

RB Dierre Hill

The No. 6 running back in the country according to 247Sports, Hill lead Althoff Catholic to a 49-21 win over Belleville East. In the win, he picked up over 311 yards and four touchdowns as he was a threat to score every time he touched the ball.

Hill has a nice knack for catching the ball out of the backfield for the Crusaders. His five-foot-eleven, 180 pound frame gives him unique track speed and allows him to break tackles with ease. Hill also plays defense for Althoff Catholic, but projects to play running back when he gets to Eugene.
