A Petition Urges the NCAA to Allow Senior Student Athletes a Year of Eligibility Back
The NCAA cancelled all winter and spring sports on Thursday due to the Coronavirus pandemic. This will leave many NCAA senior student athletes stripped of a year of eligibility before they were even able to compete yet a petition was started imploring the NCAA to allow college athletes a year of eligibility back. The petition was started by Iowa Hawkeyes senior Allison Wahrman, whose track-and-field career was starting to pick up when the cancellations were announced. As of Friday afternoon, the petition had 104,627 digital signatures within 20 hours of Wahrman posting it.
