Colorado Avalanche Player Injures Himself Hugging Teammates During Celebration

When hockey players score goals, they celebrate by creating little huddles. This is well known. What's less known is the risk involved. With all those sticks flying around, hugging four fellow brawny metahumans can be perilous work. Just ask Colorado Avalanche forward Ryan O'Reilly, for whom keeping it real recently went wrong.

According to the Denver Post, O'Reilly is day-to-day after jamming his shoulder in a post-goal celebration Monday. You can see the injury pretty clearly in the video above.

Also note how his two linemates, Gabriel Landeskog (Swedish) and Paul Stastny (American), both made their respective Olympic teams. Clearly Team Canada knew O'Reilly wasn't ready to embrace on the big stage when they left him of their roster today.
