College Hockey Team's Empty, Driverless Bus Crashes into Italian Restaurant

On Wednesday in Oswego, New York, a bus with a mind of its own crashed into a popular local Italian restaurant, where the Bowdoin College hockey team was eating a pregame meal.

"The bus driver was inside having lunch," owner Nick Canale told Jeff Stein of Syracuse.com. "We saw the bus sliding across the street ... and then, bang!"

Canale speculated that strong winds and icy conditions caused the bus to take off on its own. The phantom bus picked up enough speed to damage the restaurant's awning, rails, and steps (wider picture here), but fortunately no one was injured.
