Joe Girardi Blows Up at an Umpire, Gets Ejected

Tuesday May 6th, 2014

When umpire Laz Diaz made a questionable call during the Yankees-Angels game last night, Joe Girardi let him have it. Diaz was right about the call (and the call resulted in a strikeout for Gardner, so it actually made a difference in the game), but he was immediately ejected after he shouted at Diaz in a blind fury.

After the game, Girardi told reporters that he and Diaz had gotten off to a bad start after Diaz shook his finger at him. Said Girardi, "I'm not a little kid and I don't need to be scolded. ... No one's coming to see Laz, I can tell you that."
