Greg Schiano Says He Calmed Down QB Tom Savage by Invoking 'Billions of Chinese'
Greg Schiano may want to scrap "Storyteller" from his resume.
Earlier today, the ex-Tampa Bay Bucs coach made a rather interesting analogy while discussing quarterback Tom Savage, who he coached at Rutgers.
During Savage's freshman year, Schiano tried to calm the QB down by telling him that "there's billions of Chinese out here that don't care what you do. Just go out there and let it rip." Apparently, that odd bit of wisdom ended up working on Savage, who went out and threw an 81-yard touchdown pass.
I am not sure what that says about Schiano's coaching ability, but I'll let you come to your own conclusions.
