Superstitious High School Baseball Team Uses Goat as Rallying Cry

The Saline High School baseball team have been marching through the postseason thanks to their timely hitting, shutdown pitching, and a goat they purchased off Craigslist.

“I woke up one morning thinking we needed a team goat,” said Saline pitcher Josh Smith. “I can’t really explain it.”

Given front row seats for all of the Hornets playoff games -- this after attending every home game during the regular season (and even some on the road) -- the goat has become a beloved mascot to both fans and players.

“You see him and it cheers you up,” Smith added. “It keeps everything loose in the dugout.”

Even better? The goat probably saves the team a ton of money on field maintenance.
