Philly's new Joe Frazier statue is awesome

It's high time Philadelphia was graced by the statue of their greatest boxer. Like, their greatest actual boxer, not a fictional character.

Artist Stephen Layne has nearly finished a 10-foot tall statue of boxing legend Joe Frazier which will find a home in the sports complex in South Philadelphia.

Said Layne:

"[Frazier] looks like a lion in this great, great profile. That's one profile I focussed [sic] on a lot on the piece. There are different expressions, he doesn't always look mean and bad. He looks like someone open, wide-eyed, interested, and enthusiastic. So I try to get a lot of those elements at once."

The artist hasn't said yet when the statue will go on display, but if it's half as impressive as it looks in the video, it will definitely be something to see. Take that, Stallone.
