Colin Kaepernick signs extension, gets tattoo calling money 'evil'

Colin Kaepernick's tattoos have (for whatever reason) been a source of controversy. But while the ones covering his biceps are easy to see whenever he takes the field, Kaepernick had to take to Instagram to show off the one he just got on the right of his torso.

"Money is the root of all evil," says the man who signed a $126 million extension last month

Despite leading his team to a Super Bowl, Kaepernick is known as much for his body art as for his play on the field. Last year, he got two new pieces on his chest after the 49ers' loss in the Super Bowl, and ESPN asked him to strip down and show off his ink for ESPN The Magazine's "Body Issue". Kaepernick's tattoos are so much a part of his identity that they'll be featured in Madden 15. The good news for the game's developers is that his latest piece is covered by his jersey, so they won't have to make any edits to his digital avatar.
