Monday October 13th, 2014

Arizona Cardinals cheerleader Claire Thorton got quite the surprise during the squad's pre-kickoff routine on Sunday, as her Air Force Captain boyfriend Erick Straub appeared on one knee and proposed to her in front of thousands of cheering fans.

In addition to her cheerleading duties, the 23-year-old Thorton is also a first grade teacher, according to The Daily Mail.

Straub's proposal was broadcast on the University of Phoenix Stadium's Jumbotron, so all in attendance were able to see the happy couple after Thorton said yes.

As a gift to the newly engaged pair, the Cardinals defeated the visiting Washington Redskins 30-20.
