Kings smash a light with soccer ball during pregame warmup

Monday October 27th, 2014

Arena operators may want to keep a closer eye on the Los Angeles Kings when the reigning Stanley Cup champions roll into town.

NHL players like to goof around by kicking soccer balls in arena hallways to kill time before games, which didn't end up being a wise idea recently.

While making their way though a Staples Center hallway, the Kings sent an errant kick hard into a light fixture, resulting in part of it crashing to the ground and spraying quite a bit of debris.

Maybe the team can find a more gentle warmup up routine, at least until the arena can find some sturdier hallway lighting.
