Nobody ate pizza because Roger Goodell wasn't eating pizza

Wednesday December 10th, 2014

The Wall Street Journal has a long, detailed look at what Roger Goodell's been doing since TMZ released a video Ray Rice knocking out his then-fiancee in a casino elevator.

The story outlines Goodell's response to the situation, which included late-night pizza parties/crisis management sessions.

Late into the night on Sept. 10, executives in the NFL conference room brainstormed over ways to prove the commissioner wasn’t covering up for Mr. Rice. Pizzas arrived but no slice was taken until Mr. Goodell ate. He never did, and the slices turned cold in the box.

Goodell is so powerful he can force his subordinates to go hungry.
