Travel data predicts Seahawks victory in Super Bowl XLIX

Thursday January 29th, 2015

As the big game draws near people are focusing less on Deflategate and Marshawn Lynch's press conferences and more on who exactly is going to walk off the field holding the Lombardi trophy.

There are all sorts of odd ways to guess based on video game simulations and animal predictions, but the latest novel predictor is through travel data, and it has correctly called the last three Super Bowls.

In 2012, flights from New York area airports to Super Bowl XLVI host city Indianapolis were booked more frequently than from Boston, and the Giants defeated the Patriots in that years game. The same pattern continued with the Ravens in 2013, and the Seahawks last year.

Amadeus' Travel Intelligence group has been tracking flights from the home town's of both the Patriots and the Seahawks to this year's Super Bowl site in Glendale, Ariz., and it looks like the Seahawks will become back-to-back champions, according to the company's data.

Patriots fans might want to start booking flights from Logan to Phoenix Sky Harbor as soon as possible, it may be your team's only hope.
