Vaughn corners Gordon and tries to get inside his head to help him calm any pre-race fears and talk a little bit about his upcoming movie.

Unfortunately for Vaughn, Gordon was not terribly interested in the actor's help and was actually just trying to make a phone call.
Gordon's Daytona 500 did not end so well for the former champion, as a last lap crash caused him to finish in 33rd place.
