Charles Barkley was impressed with how Kansas forward Cliff Alexander played against Wichita State. (He didn't play against Wichita State.)

It's pretty obvious Charles Barkley doesn't watch much college basketball. And that's OK; for most of the year, it's not his job to watch the college game.

But Barkley's ignorance was painfully evident during halftime of the Kansas-Wichita State game. Host Greg Gumbel asked Chuck for his thoughts on the first half and Barkley said Kansas freshman Cliff Alexander was "playing pretty good."

Here's the problem: Cliff Alexander hasn't played since Feb. 23 because of an NCAA investigation. Oops.

Head coach Bill Self said on Monday that he didn't expect to have Alexander available for the tournament. He didn't even travel with the team to Omaha. But Barkley still liked what he saw from the youngster.

Kansas lost, 78-65, at least in the game we were watching. Who knows how they did in the game Chuck saw?
