Mavericks' backcourt gets 'Guardians of the Galaxy' treatment

The Dallas Mavericks' gave their backcourt parody treatment in a "Guards of Galaxy" video.

As parody videos go, taking inspiration from one of the biggeet hits of the new era of superhero films is a solid move.

That's what the Dallas Mavericks did in their "Guards of the Galaxy" video tribute to their backcourt, obviously inspired by Guardians of the Galaxy, the 2014 Marvel film that set numerous box office records.

Rajon Rondo, Monta Ellis, Devin Harris, Raymond Felton and J.J. Barea all get some screen time in the video—"We're the freaking guards of the galaxy," Barea insists—and Dirk Nowitzki even gets a "post-credits" appearance at the end.

Great work by the Mavericks, who entered the weekend seventh in the Western Conference at 46-30.
