Russell Martin's dad plays 'O Canada' at Jays' game on saxophone

Watch as Russell Martin's dad kicks off a Blue Jays' exhibition by playing 'O Canada' on the saxophone

Russell Martin Sr., the father of Ontario, Can., native and Toronto Blue Jays catcher Russell Martin, gave fans at an exhibition game between Toronto and Cincinnati in Montreal's Olympic Stadium something to remember Friday night.

Martin Sr. played 'O Canada' on the saxophone for 46,000 borderline-jingoistic Canadians.

And he crushed it.

Canadian pride ran deep Friday night as the evening also represented Martin, a recently signed Blue Jay, returning to his native Canada, as well as professional baseball returning to Montreal. Major League Baseball moved the Montreal Expos out of the city after the 2004 season and relocated them to Washington, D.C.

Jazz runs deep in the Martin family. Martin Jr.'s middle name is Coltrane - as in, jazz legend John Coltrane. Martin appeared emotional before the game after seeing his dad perform.

The Reds won the game 2-0.
