Toronto really hates Paul Pierce. This Toronto Sun cover is evidence.

There's a lot to unpack in there. The expert Gandalf photoshop job, the emphasis on 'old', the whole dinosaur-wizard deal, and of course talking out of his @#%. Major troll points going north of the border. Zero chill. Zero.

Pierce opened up in an interview with ESPN's Jackie MacMullan earlier this week about his tumultuous tenure with the Nets, his relationship with Ray Allen, and of course, commented briefly on the Raptors.

"We haven't done particularly well against Toronto, but I don't feel they have the 'It' that makes you worried,'' Pierce told ESPN. "There isn't a team I look at in the Eastern Conference that makes me say, 'They are intimidating, we don't have a chance.'"

The Raptors' Amir Johnson fired back and escalated things soon afterward, likening Pierce's comments to Viagra, metaphorically speaking.

“To me personally, I think that’s just to get Paul Pierce going, you know?” Toronto forward Amir Johnson, who is 10 years younger than Pierce, said Friday on TSN. “Older guy, a vet, you know, he needs to get himself going and I think that’s what those comments are for. It’s just like, you know, when you use Viagra, you know, how do you get yourself going?”

Pierce attempted to clarify his comments, according to the Washington Postbut it looks like the damage has been done.

Want beef? Well, this Raptors-Wizards series is getting more and more interesting.
