Boston Marathon runner Amy Sennett wasn't just gasping for breath as she crossed the finish line at the Boston Marathon, Monday.

Daniel Koh, who is the chief of staff for Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, proposed to Sennett after the pair completed the race.

Koh enlisted the help of friends along the course route who held up signs along the way. According to Boston.com, the message spelled out to Sennett went like this:

Amy, you've changed my life

We've been through it all

From Boston-(Kaya!)

To DC-(M Street!)

To New York-(Cramped Studio!)

To Philadelphia-(Talula's Garden!)

...and back.

There's a lot we have left to learn

But I know one thing for sure

I love you, and will love you, forever

You're the answer to all my questions

But I have one question left to ask...

Walsh, who handed Koh the ring, tweeted his congratulations afterward.

We've gotta admit, this was pretty smooth, Mr. Koh. Pretty smooth, indeed.
