Watch: Tom Brady, Peyton Manning debut new commercials

Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and Luke McCown all debuted new commercials during Thursday night’s NFL season opener between the New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Thursday night was a busy one for NFL quarterbacks.

Sure, Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger kicked off the NFL season in the New England Patriots’ 28–21 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. But Brady, Peyton Manning and Luke McCown all also debuted new commercials during the game’s broadcast on NBC.

Brady’s might be the most interesting considering the timing; the season opener is always highly anticipated, but seeing the Patriots kick off the season after the summer of Deflategate and Brady’s suspension saga was especially riveting. In the spot for Under Armour, Brady undergoes a fairly intense training routine ... with quite a few clones of himself.

Manning’s commercial for Nationwide is the second in the insurance company’s “Jingle” series. The first spot is now ubiquitous, so it made sense Nationwide would follow up with another to begin the 2015 season.

Finally, McCown also got in on the action. Yes, it’s surprising to be discussing the perennial backup with Brady and Manning, but that’s exactly what Verizon was playing on with these two ads.
