John Calipari jokes about ‘one-and-done’ Jordan Spieth

Friday October 2nd, 2015

John Calipari sat down with Kentucky Sports Radio to talk about the state of Kentucky basketball and his philosophy on encouraging players to take opportunities at the professional level after just one year in college.

To illustrate his point, Calipari jokes about the damage Jordan Spieth, who spent a year at Texas, has done to the college golf game.

The Wildcats coach’s tongue is, of course, firmly planted in his cheek as he says the FedEx Cup winner “ruined college golf” by heading off to success on the PGA Tour.

You can hear Calipari’s full 45-minute interview below as he prepares for another season in Lexington, with the team’s annual kickoff event “Big Blue Madness” taking place on Oct. 16.
