Donald Trump: Injured Tom Brady still better than anybody else

“He’s a champ and he’s a winner. And that’s what we need in this country.” Trump on Brady

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump believes that an injured Tom Brady is still better than any other quarterback in the NFL, he told supporters at a rally in Lowell, Mass.

Brady sustained a high ankle sprain in the regular season finale against the Miami Dolphins.

“Remember this,” Trump said, “Tom Brady injured is still better than anybody else.”

Trump also proceeded to applaud a fan clad in a custom-made Trump/Brady t-shirt.

“Tom has been very nice to me and Tom’s my friend,” Trump added. “He’s been saying great things about me, you know that. I’ll tell you what: He’s a champ and he’s a winner. And that’s what we need in this country.”

Brady and Trump have been friends since judging the Miss USA beauty pageant together in 2002. In a recent radio interview, Brady did not directly disclose whether Trump would have his vote, but he said hopes Trump has a chance at being the next president.

“That would be great. There’d be a putting green on the White House lawn. I know that,” Brady said.
