Peyton Manning jokes about retirement during leadership speech
Peyton Manning seems to be in no rush to make his retirement decision.
The Broncos quarterback decided not to call it a career immediately after winning Super Bowl 50. Instead, he’s taking his time to make the right call amid reports he’s done and reports he’s staying.
Of course, the five-time MVP and commercial pitchman knows the country is waiting for his decision. Manning referenced the situation with a joke during a speech on leadership in Jacksonville, Fla.
“Many of you have probably heard that I have a significant announcement to make, so I thought I’d go ahead and make it with all of you here tonight,” Manning said, according to ESPN. Manning then announced the fast-food pizza chain he endorses would be offering 50% off through Friday.

You know the pizza chain I’m talking about—it’s like, the third-most popular pizza chain in the country. It’s the pizza chain you and your friends would order from if the other two pizza chains you tried ordering from wouldn’t deliver to your area.
Anyway, a Manning decision should be coming sooner rather than later. His $19 million salary for next season will be guaranteed on March 9, unless he is released or he retires.
