Jeremy Lin was feeling generous and donated $1 million to Harvard (his alma mater), part of it for renovations to the basketball arena. But as Malcolm Gladwell pointed out, millionaires donating funds to schools with enormous endowments (Harvard's is at $37 billion) is a huge waste of money.
The NBA Season is Here
Wednesday was the first full night of NBA action this season and there's lots to take in: Joel Embiid had a stellar debut and got some MVP chants ... Russell Westbrook got flipped off by a Sixers fan, which may or may not have been related to his kilt ... Pop singer Sevyn Streeter says the 76ers wouldn't let her sing the national anthem because of her shirt ... The Magic and Pacers had the ugliest 16 seconds in NBA history ... The Magic raised a banner in tribute to the Pulse Night Club shootings ... Anthony Davis scored 50 in a loss to Denver.
Cubs Even World Series
Jake Arietta powered the Cubs past the Indians (which I'm sure didn't make this fan very happy) to tie the World Series at 1-1. LeBron James and the Cavs were on hand, though with a little more jewelry than the previous game. Kyle Schwarber continued his movie-esque comeback by going 2-for-4 with two RBI and a walk in the victory.
