Don’t mess up Meyers Leonard’s name, or he’ll scream across the court to correct you

Note to self: Never call Meyers Leonard “Myles.”

Meyers Leonard probably gets his name spelled wrong on a weekly basis, so eventually he was bound to crack.

During Monday night’s game against the Chicago Bulls, Leonard committed a foul only to hear the public address announcer call him “Myles” in front of thousands of people. He wasn’t about to have it—not today. He’d seen “Myers Leonard” written too many times. To make matters worse, he was in his home state of Illinois, where he played college ball for the Fighting Illini. It was the perfect storm.

Leonard then turned toward the announcer, as he prepared to stand outside the lane for a pair of free throw attempts.

“MEYERS!” he screamed.

That’s the last time you ever mess with Myles Leonard.
