J.J. Watt Roasts Zach Ertz for Wayward Ceremonial First Pitch

J.J. Watt and Zach Ertz were Cardinals teammates for just a season and a half, but the two seem to be great friends. And with friendship comes accountability, even when it comes to throwing a baseball.

On Saturday night, Zach and Julie Ertz threw out the ceremonial first pitches at the Red Sox-Phillies game in Philadelphia. While Julie made a solid throw, Zach had some trouble. The Arizona tight end bounced his pitch in the dirt in front of the batter’s box.

Watt saw this and took to Twitter to playfully plead to the internet to take the video down.

“We cannot have people with lots of followers retweeting and sharing this,” Watt tweeted. “Have you ever thrown a baseball before?!”

Watt can back up the talk, as he has successfully thrown out multiple first pitches. He even attempted a first pitch while on crutches and was able to avoid bouncing the ball.

If Ertz gets a chance to redeem himself at some point, we can expect Watt to be watching closely.
