Earlier this week, Fantasy Football World Championship Commissioner and SI Fantasy & Gambling VP Scott Atkins released his 2020 Dynasty Fantasy Football Rankings. Atkins' rankings are slanted toward younger players that will have excellent trade value in years to come. I will share some of my initial observations to his rankings.

Let start with the quarterback position. Atkins ranked Kyler Murray as his fourth quarterback. Murray did well in his rookie season last year, and he has a new weapon in DeAndre Hopkins at his disposal. I get the benefit that Muray has in age only being 22 years old, but I would rank Dak Prescott, who is four years older ahead of him. Prescott has a better supporting cast, and his team is ready to win now. I think that's important. Even though you look to build for the future in dynasty, somebody has to win now too. My approach leans toward trying to win sooner rather than later, and Prescott is ready to be a top dynasty quarterback now.

At the running back position, Atkins ranks Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs eighth, Jacobs played very well in his debut season, in 13 games he ran for over 1,100 yards at 4.7 yards per attempt. I think this is a very bold ranking. I'm in total agreement with it.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver D.K. Metcalf is Atkins' 10th-ranked wide receiver. Now going into his second season, I will admit I didn't like Metcalf at all at the start of 2019, but he surprised me and played very well. From seeing him play, I now think he has the potential to grow into Russell Wilson's top wide receiver for years to come. In the Seahawks Wild Card victory over the Eagles, Metcalf caught nine passes for 160 yards and a touchdown. He looked like the next big thing in Seattle.

Finally, Atkins has Detriot Lions' 22-year-old tight end T.J. Hockenson as his fourth-ranked tight end. I think this is an aggressive yet smart ranking. The Lions have the makings of a good young core on offense; they just need to put all the pieces together. Last season Hockenson played in 12 games, and his production was inconsistent, but so was the rest of the Lions' offense. Hockenson has a clear path to snaps with little competition for playing time. Look for him to have every opportunity to succeed.
