For the second straight year the Chiefs once again had one of the best offenses in the NFL and after an other-worldly offensive performance in the playoffs, fantasy football players are gobbling up all the Kansas City playmakers.

After witnessing the Chiefs incredible run to hoisting the Lombardi Trophy which included unbelievable offensive performances, fantasy football players started drooling over the possibility of drafting players from Kansas City in 2020. The result is four Chiefs players getting picked in the first three rounds. Among those players, wide receiver Tyreek Hill has the highest Average Draft Position, followed by tight end Travis Kelce, next is quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and then rookie running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire. If fantasy football players want to draft one of those four players, they’ll have to use their early-round draft equity.

Sports Illustrated’s fantasy football analyst Ben Heisler and ArrowHead Report’s Joshua Brisco run through the list of Chiefs playmakers and analyze their fantasy football value.

Read the transcript from their conversation:

Bill Enright: The Kansas City Chiefs have four players getting drafted in the first three rounds of fantasy football draft for 2020. Let's find out who they are and if they're good value picks. Bring on Ben Heisler, our SI fantasy analyst, and also Joshua Briscoe, the editor from Arrowhead Report. Josh, I'm going to go to you first. Let's talk about Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce. Both have an ADP of late, first, early, second round. What do you make of that?

Joshua Briscoe: Yeah, it's funny to talk about value in every talk at the very beginning of the draft like that. But those are the two guys in this offense I feel most confident in maybe except for Mahomes, because the game's a little different for quarterbacks. But I just cannot see a world where Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce aren't getting you that value back. Maybe there's an injury issue, but that's always a concern with all these weapons in this offense. Mecole Hardman, Sammy Watkins, Damien Williams in the backfield. There are always names here you go, man, there's a lot of talent. I think Hill and Kelce are going to get consistently fed by Mahomes and in some ways, Andy Reid. I think those two guys are gonna get you that return on investment, even really high in the draft.

Bill Enright: The next player on the chiefs with the highest ADP quarterback, Patrick Mahomes. Ben, where do you come down on drafting a quarterback within those first couple rounds of fantasy drafts?

Ben Heisler: Yeah, I'm in the minority of trying to go ahead and save on quarterbacks, I just don't think somebody like Mahomes, even though he's a stud at every level, and you can make the argument of whether or not it's him or Lamar Jackson is that top quarterback off the board. There's just so much inherent value late in fantasy drafts at the quarterback spot that it doesn't make that much of a difference that the last couple of years, I think, have been more statistical outliers. But Mahomes is still going to throw for right around 300 yards per game, still around two, three touchdowns. And he has arguably the best offense to work within the NFL. So I'm passing on Mahomes when it comes to that particular ADP. But you could absolutely make a legitimate argument that if he goes and has an MVP type caliber season, that he blows the water out out of the rest of the quarterbacks in this class. So I'm going to probably wait and maybe I'll be proven wrong. But I do think Mahomes is warranting good top tier, second, third round fantasy value. I'm just going to wait for the quarterback spot.

Bill Enright: All right. I'll do a follow up for each of you. Just a one word answer. Clyde Edwards-Hilaire, draft or pass, Ben?

Ben Heisler: Pass.

Bill Enright: Josh?

Joshua Briscoe: Pass.

Bill Enright: Both passing on the rookie running back. OK, we got our fantasy team previews for all 32 squads. You can check it out by go to SI.com/fantasy.
