Bishop Gorman staked its claim as being the No. 1 high school football team in the country after holding off St. John Bosco in a battle of two teams with national championship hopes. The Gaels bounced to a 21-0 halftime lead before St. John Bosco came alive in the second half, even tying it at 28-28. But Bishop Gorman had the answers down the stretch and held on for a 38-28 victory. Relive all the action below.

4TH QUARTER

FINAL: Bishop Gorman 38, St. John Bosco 28

INTERCEPTION! Kamil Loud with the pick for Bishop Gorman and that should do it. (Gaels 38-28, 1:11)

FIELD GOAL! Maximiliano Fuentes drains a 49-yard field goal for Bishop Gorman and that could put this one in the refrigerator. Insane kick! (Gaels 38-28, 2:09)

SOD! St. Bosco was stopped on downs at its own 43-yard line. The Braves gambled in Vegas and lost. (Gaels 35-28, 4:39)

ANALYSIS: The refs are giving players like Ace Amina and DJ Tubbs a good battle for the stars of the game. Ridiculous. (Gaels 35-28, 6:14)

TOUCHDOWN! Ace Amina hits Corey Hinton on a 59-yard touchdown to give Gorman the lead back. The drive was kept alive on a defensive holding penalty after Bosco got what appeared to be a stop. (Gaels 35-28, 6:49)

TOUCHDOWN! St. John Bosco has come all the way back to tie it thanks to a DJ Tubbs punt return for touchown. (Tied 28-28, 9:14)

3RD QUARTER

ANALYSIS: St. Bosco comes alive and makes this one very interesting heading to the fourth quarter. The Braves offense is mixing run and pass beautifully now. But is there too much to do still? (Gaels 28-21, end 3rd)

TOUCHDOWN! Maliq Allen breaks off a stylish touchdown run on the final play of the quarter and Bosco isn't going away. Woof! What a shootout we have here. (Gaels 28-21, end 3rd)

TOUCHDOWN! Ace Amina hits Zyren Menor on a busted coverage and Bishop Gorman answers back to stop Bosco's rally. (Gaels 28-14, 1:59)

TOUCHDOWN! Koa Malau'ulu with the scoring strike to DJ Tubbs and St. John Bosco has made this a game again. Maliq Allen and Kuika Moaalii helping out, too, for the Braves. (Gaels 21-14, 5:15)

TOUCHDOWN! St. John Bosco strikes on a 10-yard TD pass from Koa Malau'ulu to Kuika Moaalii on 4th-and-goal. It was an 80-yard drive on the Braves' first possession of the second half to cut the Gorman lead. (Gaels 21-7, 7:45)

HALFTIME

Bishop Gorman 21, St. John Bosco 0: The score says it all. Bishop Gorman has forced two turnovers. St. John Bosco has been stifled. Absolutely nothing working for the Braves against what might be the best defense in the country.

2ND QUARTER

INTERCEPTION! Brayley Manning's huge game at corner for Gorman continues as he hauls an interception at his own 40. That is Bosco's second turnover of the first half. (21-0 Gaels, 1:26)

ANALYSIS: Hard to see Bosco coming back against this Bishop Gorman defense. There is absolutely nothing the Braves have been able to do consistently. (21-0 Gaels, 3:59)

TOUCHDOWN! The rout is on! Ace Amina to Zyren Menor touchdown pass and Bishop Gorman is rolling. Bosco absolutely refusing to defend the running backs out of the backfield on pass plays. Gorman torched them right down field on that play. (21-0 Gaels, 7:47)

1ST QUARTER

ANALYSIS: Many will attribute Bosco's slow start to overconfidence from the lofty preseason ranking, but it may have more to do with culture shock. Gorman just looked so much better across the board in the opening quarter. (Gaels 14-0, end 1st)

TOUCHDOWN! Bishop Gorman scores again! This time on defense following a strip sack and fumble recovery in end zone by Caleb Lea'Ea. Nightmare start for Bosco. (14-0 Gaels, 6:53)

TOUCHDOWN! Bishop Gorman strikes first as Ace Amina hits Noah Cole on a short TD pass. (7-0 Gaels, 8:03)

QB DECISION: Ace Amina makes his second straight start at QB for Bishop Gorman. Transfer Chance Thomas will back him up. The QB battle appears to be over for now. (11:54)
