Congratulations to Northwest Rankin girls soccer forward Kate Nesbit for being voted SBLive’s Mississippi High School Athlete of the Week for Jan. 10-16!

The freshman recorded a goal and an assist in a 2-1 win over Madison Central.

Nesbit received 46.04% of the vote, beating out South Panola's Shania Fondren who finished second with 13.02%. Petal's Christian Parks finished third with 12.21% and Northwest Rankin's Rory Humphrey finished fourth with 5.98%. There were over 81,000 votes tallied this week!

D’Naylah Williams, Kosciusko Girls Basketball: Had 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists in 68-46 win over West Lauderdale.

Shania Fondren, South Panola Girls Basketball: The freshman scored 20 points, 14 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 blocks in 57-50 win over Hernando.

McGheyla Patton, South Panola Girls Basketball: Recorded 18 points and 2 steals in 57-50 win over Hernando.

Aaliyah Amey, Kosciusko Girls Basketball: The senior had 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks in a 75-49 district win over Northeast Lauderdale.

Carleigh King, Brandon Girls Soccer: King scored 2 goals and added an assist in a key region matchup 3-2 win over Oak Grove.

Rory Humphrey, Northwest Rankin Boys Soccer: Scored a goal in the top-ranked Cougars’ 2-0 win over Madison Central. 

Ethan Miller, Oak Grove Boys Soccer: Scored the game-sealing goal in the 110th minute to give the Warriors a 2-1 win over Brandon.

Debreasha Powe, Meridian Girls Basketball: The Mississippi State signee finished with 15 points, 10 rebounds and had 6 blocks to lead the Lady Wildcats to a 42-26 win over Olive Branch.

Marley Freeman, Brandon Girls Basketball: Freeman scored 19 points in the Lady Bulldogs’ 60-20 win over Petal.

Zay Fortenberry, Petal Boys Basketball: The senior scored a team-high 17 points in a 63-60 win over Brandon.

Josh Hubbard, Madison-Ridgeland Academy Boys Basketball: Had a game-high 32 points to lead MRA to a 53-52 win over rival Jackson Prep in a key all-Patriot MAIS Class 6A conference matchup.

Christian Parks, Petal Boys Basketball: Recorded 12 points and 8 blocks in a 63-60 win over Brandon.

Riley Hancock, Madison-Ridgeland Academy Girls Basketball: Scored 15 points in a 31-30 win over Jackson Prep.

Madilynn Vuncannon, Walnut Girls Basketball: Recorded a double-double (11 points, 10 rebound) in a 34-55 loss to Belmont. 

Ray Daniels, Biloxi Boys Basketball: Daniels had 12 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds in a 52-38 win over Gulfport. 

Jarius “BoBo” Jordan, Starkville Boys Basketball: Scored 14 points in a 44-51 loss to Magnolia Heights.

Cody Bost, Ingomar Boys Basketball: Hit the game-winning shot at the buzzer on the baseline to give the Falcons a 45-43 win over Tremont.
