In this story:

With everything that has gone on within the Los Angeles Angels 2023 season thus far, it's very easy to forget that the MLB draft is already next month. LA has already seen a number of their top prospects get called up this year and make an immediate impact so that should get them even more excited about a new haul of young talent.

In the past couple of years, we've seen LA go heavy on bringing in as many pitchers as possible. Their farm system has been top heavy in this regard and say Shohei Ohtani does decide to leave in free agency, this is going to at least soften the blow a little bit considering he's their top player on the mound.

The outfield is definitely not an immediate area of need for the Halos right now as they have a 31-year-old Mike Trout, Taylor Ward who is in the midst of turning over a slump, a rising Luis Rengifo, and the newest addition in Mickey Moniak. However, this goes to show that LA can produce and recruit top OF's and the draft is a place to secure for the future.

Vanderbilt's own Enrique Bradfield Jr. has been making noise in the college scene as of late and has a nice mix of speed, slugging, and defensive IQ that has landed him in or near the top prospects heading into the 2023 draft.

Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter believes the Halos could be a nice landing spot for him.

"The Angels have a penchant for tooled-up outfielders, and Bradfield fits the mold with true

80-grade

speed and a good enough hit tool to be a top-of-the-lineup catalyst. A .311/.426/.447 hitter in three years at Vanderbilt, he doesn't try to do too much at the plate and hunts line drives rather than launch angle. He is 130-for-143 on stolen base attempts and uses his speed extremely well in center field."

It will be great to see if LA does take the chance on him.
