Angels News: LA's Top Prospect Given 2nd Chance

In this story:
The Los Angeles Angels have seen plenty of success this season when it comes to their young guys and it looks like they are going to stick to that formula... this time with their bullpen.
Fans may remember last season when LA's top pitching prospect Chase Silseth got his first taste of major league action. However, he definitely looked like he needed some more polishing as he posted a 6.59 ERA and a 1.57 WHIP in seven official games.

However, he is back ladies and gentlemen as the Halos have announced that they will be recalling him after a fiery start this season in the AAA. Reliever Austin Warren has been placed on the IL and the bullpen needed some support.
The Athletic's Sam Blum was the first to share the news.

What Changed For Him This Year?
All Silseth needed in 2023 to regain trust in the Angels' front office was four starts with the Salt Lake Bees. He was able to dominate at the pitching mound with a 0.90 ERA as he struck out 20 batters and only allowed three runs.
Something that fans should also keep a close eye on, if they aren't already, is the current state of Jose Suarez. He's still in the starting rotation for now but if his struggles continue, he may be sent to the bullpen and Silseth could take his spot.

What Are His Thoughts On The Opportunity?
Silseth was in the middle of warming up for yet another AAA game when he received the information that he would be re-joining the Angels' roster. He immediately hopped on a flight to LA and the rest is history.
He remained through it all and just wants to play baseball at the end of the day.

How Did Silseth Fare In His First Game?
The Angels were able to secure a dominant win over the Oakland A's on Wednesday and the final score was 11-3.
Due to this, Silseth got some run and he did not disappoint.
