Angels Score: LA Wins 2nd Straight, Ohtani & Trout Hit 1st Home Runs of Season

In this story:
The Los Angeles Angels have only allowed one run over their past 18 innings played against the Oakland Athletics. They most recently won 6-0 in their Sunday afternoon match, which was the last time they'll see them until April 24.
Everybody is raving about the home runs and the incredible offensive production that carried over from Saturday's 13-2 victory, but we have to start off by showing some love to Tyler Anderson.
Even though he played for the city-rival Dodgers last season for 31 games, he immediately made his presence felt in his season debut. We had the pleasure of watching him take the mound for six innings and give up only four hits and two walks while striking out four batters.

It was pretty quiet game up until the third inning where Logan O'Hoppe got the offense rolling for LA. He continued his success at the plate and bombed a three-run homer that allowed Hunter Renfroe and Luis Rengifo to score with him.
It was the first home run of his career for the rookie catcher and he did it in impressive fashion.
Logan O'Hoppe hit his first career homer. It was a 3-run blast. Went 391 feet.

Mike Trout then joined the fun in the very next inning. Off of a perfect fastball from Ken Waldichuk, he connected on a 434 ft home run that also brought Taylor Ward around all the bases.

And of course, similar to the WBC, Shohei Ohtani was not about to let Trout have the last laugh as he stepped up to bat right after and crushed the Angels' final home run of the day and gave them their winning score 6-0.

They did not match the 13 runs from Saturday but thanks to a shutout performance from Anderson, they did not have to.
