MLB's annual trade deadline is coming up in short order, and the Los Angeles Angels are arguably the most intriguing team to watch ahead of the August 1st date.

The Halos have Shohei Ohtani on their roster as of now, and he looks to be on his way to another MVP season as he hit his 36th home run of the season in Sunday's victory.

Speaking of victories, the Angels look like they're turning things around of late. They've won six of their last eight games, and suddenly a playoff berth doesn't seem like a far-fetched possibility anymore. As of Monday, the Angels are only four games out of a playoff spot.

All this begs the most interesting of questions.

Should the Angels trade their iconic two-way star, or should they keep him in the fold and try to make a run to the postseason with the impending free agent on hand?

According to MLB Network insider Jon Morosi, the Halos are talking to teams around the league about Ohtani, meaning that a potential deal remains in the cards with one week remaining until the deadline.

Of course, if the Angels were to deal Ohtani, they would likely receive one of the biggest hauls in the sport's history in return. Everything from multiple top prospects, established major leaguers -- or a combination of the two -- would be on the table if the Halos were to make arguably the most talented player in baseball history available.

But the Angels recent wins of late -- all of which were done without center fielder Mike Trout -- makes the Ohtani question far from a simple one.

Do the Angels pass up a chance to get a gold mine in return for Ohtani -- who's set to become a free agent after this season?

That's the query they'll have to find an answer to, and at least for now, dealing the icon is still a possibility.
