Seven-time Cy Young winner and former Houston Astros pitcher Roger Clemens will join the ESPN broadcast team for the team’s season opener against the Chicago White Sox, according to the Houston Chronicle.

The broadcast team also includes Karl Ravech, Eduardo Perez and Buster Olney.

Clemens will step in for David Cone, who will participate in the Yankees' Opening Day broadcast on the YES Network.

"We've enjoyed working with Roger during his impressive KayRod Cast appearances and can't wait for him to join our opening night broadcast team as special guest game analyst," ESPN senior vice president Mark Gross told the Houston Chronicle. "The insights Roger has gained from his storied career, including his ties to Houston, will help inform the audience as the Astros begin their title defense and the sport begins a new era of gameplay."

The 60-year-old Clemens, who lives in the Houston area, attended Spring Woods High School, then pitched at San Jacinto College and the University of Texas before his MLB career.

Clemens pitched three seasons with the Astros in a remarkable 24-year career. He won the Cy Young as a member of the Astros in 2004.

Clemens won 354 career games with the Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees and the Astros.
