Astros Peña Will Look To Build Off MVP Performance In Fall Classic

In this story:
When Carlos Correa departed the Houston Astros in free agency, it was natural to be concerned.
For the passionate Astros fan base, that concern didn’t last long.
Peña slashed .253/.289/.426 with 22 home runs in 136 games and hit .400 in the World Series against the Philadelphia Phillies.
On April 1, the Astros will unveil Peña’s World Series Nost Valuable Player bobblehead.
On April 2, Peña’s replica World Series champion ring will be given out.
When you have that much success, these are the types of things that follow.
Peña will be representing the Dominican Republic in the upcoming World Baseball Classic next month.
This much we know about Peña: none of this will halt his work ethic. There’s no way he’ll get complacent.
If anything, Peña will come back even stronger in 2023.
Don’t expect any kind of slump just because he had so much success last season on the way to a championship.
Last year’s in the past,” Peña told reporters. “The goal is to turn the page. There’s a lot of work to be done and I feel good physically, mentally. We have a great team and we all know what has to get done going to the spring.”
Imagine losing a player like Correa and adding Peña.
That’s exactly how organizations stay competitive and continually challenge for championships.
