Lineup, how to watch the Atlanta Braves take on Shohei Ohtani and the Angels from Truist Park tonight

The Atlanta Braves are sending Charlie Morton to the mound against Los Angeles righty Griffin Canning

There's about to be a power surge in Truist Park.

MLB's third-best home run hitting lineup, the Los Angeles Angels, are coming town and they're bringing baseball's homerun leader with them. Designated hitter and starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani, the 2021 AL MVP, has 39 of the Angels' 162 homeruns.

The Halos are squaring off against Matt Olson and the Braves, MLB's home run leaders with 195 bombs on the season. Olson leads Atlanta with 35, but the Braves have five players over 20 homeruns and every lineup regular but one in double digits already. Atlanta's pacing to beat the 2019 Minnesota Twins record of 307 longballs, and Atlanta's tracking to have seven different players with 20 or more homeruns on the season, which would be an MLB record.

Whatever the lines are for these games, maybe take the over.

Pitching Matchup for the Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Angels on Monday, July 31st

Starting for the Atlanta Braves is Charlie Morton. The veteran is 10-8 with a 3.57 ERA in his twenty starts on the season, striking out 120 batters in his 113.1 innings. Morton hasn't faced the Angels this season, but several of these Angels hitters have experience against him from their time on other teams. 3B Eduardo Escobar, acquired from the Mets, has batted .294 against Morton across 17 at-bats with one homerun and two RBIS, while former Royals and Reds infielder Mike Moustakas is 3-12 with one homerun and a whopping 7 RBIs. Opposing Atlanta is Griffin Canning. The righty is 6-4 with a 4.46 ERA in his 16 starts this season, having struck out 91 batters in his 84.2 innings pitched. He's somewhat homer prone, giving up an average of one per start (16 hit in 16 games). Not many Atlanta players have faced him, but the four that have all registered hits - Matt Olson is 4-16 with two homeruns and three RBIs, Marcell Ozuna is 203 with a homerun and two RBIs, Sean Murphy is 1-4, and Kevin Pillar is 1-3.
